About

Michael Lisby, Owner

Growing up, Michael always wanted to work with animals one day.

Michael named his service Paternal Pet Care because he feels a passionate fatherly connection to his own dogs and the many pets he interacts with every week. Paternal Pet Care was started as a hobby in 2015 and quickly became a passion with the principal that pets are part of the family.

Safety is always of the utmost importance. Michael believes one of the things that sets him apart from his competitors is continuing education. He always wants to bring the best to his clients and ensures that their pets are being taken care of by a professional, educated pet sitter! He has been certified in pet CPR & First Aid since 2015 and a Certified Professional Pet Sitter since 2017. The CPPS Certified Professional Pet Sitter™ designation encompasses both educational and ethical components to ensure pet owners when they choose a pet sitter with this designation they’re getting the very best in the industry. Michael also frequently attends annual BlogPaws and PetSittingOlogy conferences.

Michael lives with his wife Cassie in Clermont, Florida with Tesla, a female Am Staff Mix, whom they adopted at the age of  3 months from Last Day Dog Rescue in Michigan in 2014 and a 2-year-old rescue named Jacob from Nala’s New Life Rescue in 2016.
